Why "Steak and Stogies" exists
Hi. I'm Joe and I created Steak and Stogies for a few reasons. Too often do I see the community cracking down on the things we really enjoy. Not only is cigar smoking discouraged, it is banned in more and more places daily! The government seems to keep cracking down on everything fun. I created this site as a place to vent, and to talk about the things we men enjoy. If you live in the Michiana area it is also a chance to get a great deal on top quality steaks and cigars all in one shot. Just a bit of background on me....
I am the current owner of Sawyers Meats in South Bend. My great-grandfather started our meat shop back in 1917 and I plan on continuing the business for years to come. I was also co-owner with my good friend TJ of The Ground Up. Also a small business in South Bend, IN. The Ground Up was created with the idea that smoking cigars is becoming a lost art. We created the cigar bar to provide an environment that welcomed cigars as well as good company. Needless to say, not everyone saw the opportunity the same way we did. The shop closed down, but the desire to fill this need has never died.
When it comes down to it, I like cigars, a good steak, a good drink and conversation with anyone who shares similar interests. I am also keen on supporting local small business, and am open to cross promoting with local venues and small businesses. If you are a small business with the same idea, please contact me on this page.
With any ideas, questions, inquiries, recipes, etc. please use the form to contact me at any time. I will respond asap. Thank You all!!
